The Story Of
Backpack Picnic

B

ackpack Picnic was a comedy troupe/flower that evolved/blossomed from the creative minds/plants that fester/sprout in the brains/humus of Mitch Baker, David Bewley, Jeremy Sweetlamb, Shannon McCormick, and of course me, René Pinnell. Backpack Picnic has been compared to Kids in The Hall, Monty Python, and most recently, flowering plants.

W
e produced 36 webisodes, several TV pilots, & performed live shows across the country. Highlight was definitely performing with Bob Odenkirk & Bill Hader at the Just for Laugh's Comedy Festival in Montreal. I directed & produced Backpack Picnic while Mitch did all the writing.
