The Story Of Golden tickets

S

XSW is an epic cluster fuck of noise. Everyone and their dog wants to get discovered, so it takes a special type of insanity to launch a product at the festival. With the help of our awesome PR firm JDI we came up with a fun stunt to launch Hurricane Party at SXSW.

W
e handed out 60 Golden Tickets to influencers at SXSW which were redeemable for an "instant party" and a free tab ranging in value from $50 to $500. To redeem the Golden Ticket the owner would send a text message with the desired time and location of their "instant party" and someone from the Hurricane Party team would bike over and throw down for the tab. We partied our asses off, most notably with internet famous tech blogger Robert Scoble and Foursquare CEO Dennis Crowley.

I
designed the Golden Tickets and got them produced at a local company that makes little league trophies. The CNC engraver was a dinosaur. It took an entire day of beating on the machine before it would print our logo properly. But the final product was worth it. Custom cut brass engraved with an oxidized finish and rounded corners. Hott.
